Spots for M.A.T.H. is a complete, easy-to-use curriculum for the first grade, with an interactive teaching style. It contains a comprehensive teachers' guide with scripted and partially scripted lessons. Each chapter includes a detailed overview, a guide for differentiated instruction and a letter of explanation to the parents. The lessons are sequential and follow a systematic yet exciting structure that includes work on independent thinking, concept understanding, application to real life, and review. Each lesson includes student-led explanation within small groups or to the class. The student books are attractive and clear, with varied practice activities. Supplemental worksheets, activities and assessment forms are provided. The program includes a full set of coordinating manipulatives, Dot Cards and posters. A training and support webinar is currently in the planning stages. This program has been used in classrooms with students of varied abilities, including gifted students and English Language Learners and successfully raised achievement levels.
